Fujitsu’s Service Programs Deliver Extra Piece of Mind

Fujitsu’s technologically advanced, highly reliable scanners are designed to deliver lasting performance. To increase the performance of your investment, customers may elect to augment the original Limited Warranty with optional service programs. They allow a variety of customers, from budget conscious users to service bureaus with a low tolerance to downtime, to get the additional support that best suits their requirements.

The Fujitsu Scanner Service Programs are catagorized by scanner group:

Workgroup Scanners: Current: ScanSnap S510, S510M, fi-5120C, fi-5220C, fi-5110C
Discontinued: ScanSnap S500, S500M, ScanSnap fi5110EOXM, ScanSnap fi-5110EOX, ScanSnap fi-5110EOX2, fi-4010CU, fi-4120C, fi-4220 Series, fi-4110CU, SP620C, SP15C

Departmental Scanners: Current: fi-4340C, fi-5530C, fi-5530C2, fi-6000NS

FOUR TYPES OF SERVICE PLANS:
Basic, ScanCare, Advanced Exchange, Depot

There are four service plans available but not for all of the above scanner groups (Basic, ScanCare, Advance Exchange, Depot). When you select the appropriate scanner group below you will see what plans are available for that group. The plans are explained next.

Fujitsu Basic and Basic Plus make it easy for customers to extend the Fujitsu service that comes with their Fujitsu scanner. Fujitsu Basic upgrades your standard 3-month on-site standard Limited Warranty on certain models to a full 12 months of on-site service that includes parts and labor.

Fujitsu BASIC = In-Warranty Upgrade extends the 3 Month On-Site Service With Parts & Labor to a full 12 Month Period.

    Includes:
  • Includes all spare parts, labor and travel for service of verified hardware failures
  • Minimizes downtime and maximizes productivity with responsive next day on-site service
  • Priority service on selected models – see spec sheet for details
  • Unlike Fujitsu's ScanCare Service Program, Basic service does not include preventive maintenance visits, consumable kits or user training

Fujitsu BASIC PLUS = Out of Warranty (POST) On-Site Service With Parts & Labor for 12 Month Period

Basic Plus offers the same benefits as Basic however the Plus plan is designed for on-site service coverage in the post-warranty period. Basic Plus can be ordered in single or multiple 12- month increments.

ScanCare™ = Same as Basic Adds Scheduled PMs + Comsumable Kits Delivered Automatically for 12 Months. ScanCare is available as an upgrade to the existing standard Limited Warranty.

ScanCare is Fujitsu’s premium service offering and one of the most comprehensive service programs in the industry. ScanCare extends the standard limited warranty of 3 months on-site to a full year of on-site coverage. You choose next day or 4-hour response time options to suit the needs of your business.

    Includes:
  • Scheduled preventive maintenance visits at your location by an authorized Fujitsu technician
  • Timely delivery of scheduled consumable kit(s)
  • On-site service including spare parts, labor and travel
  • On-site training

ScanCare™ PLUS = Out of Warranty (POST) Same as ScanCare, but PLUS is designed for on-site service coverage in the post-warranty period for a 12 Month period

ScanCare Plus offers the same benefits and options as the ScanCare plan, however the Plus version is designed for on-site service coverage in the post-warranty period ensuring even longer lasting peak performance for as long as you choose. ScanCare Plus can be purchased in single or multiple 12-month increments.

Advance Exchange

Advanced Exchange provides next business day advanced replacements on malfunctioning scanners. It’s an ideal choice for smaller scanners when other service plans are not available or cost effective.

How Advance Exchange Works

Once the Fujitsu technical assistance center determines that the hardware must be replaced, the order is secured with a credit card and a replacement unit is shipped directly to the customer’s location. Once the replacement unit arrives, the customer uses the packaging to ship the failed scanner back.

    Details:
  • Provides a replacement scanner before the return to Fujitsu of the defective scanner
  • The only factory-authorized advanced exchange program for Fujitsu scanners
  • Available in the 50 United States
  • Offers an economical alternative to on-site service

Advance Exchange PLUS

Offers same coverage as Advanced Exchange but tailored to post-warranty periods.

New Depot Service Program

For those customers requiring asset tag tracking or who prefer to retain their existing unit, Fujitsu now offers Depot service for all Workgroup, Departmental and Low-Volume scanners, excluding the fi-5750C. While Advance Exchange offers overnight replacement units for requests received by 2pm PST, Depot service will have a 5-day turnaround from date of receipt of the scanner for repair and shipping back to the customer.

ScanAid

ScanAid is a factory-authorized consumable parts kit complete with instructions and cleaning supplies. It provides handy replacements for parts that wear naturally during use. And it serves as an indispensable preventive maintenance kit that helps improve performance, reduce service costs, and keep your scanner running at peak performance.

    Advantages:
  • Provides economical alternative to on-site service via self-service preventative maintenance
  • Product specific kits help reduce overall costs for service and consumables
  • The consumables you need are delivered when you need them

ANY SCANNER shipped outside the USA the manufacturer will void its warranty. Some customers do not care. They look at the exchange rate of the US dollar to their currency + shipping costs + securing a service contract within their country = a good deal for them. Other customers do not will not order for this reason. ALL INCOMING DUTIES, CUSTOM FEES, TAXES, ETC IS PAID BY THE CUSTOMER AT TIME OF DELIVERY WITHIN YOUR COUNTRY OR WHATEVER THE LOCAL POLICY/LAWS APPLY. This store can not calculate what that amount will be. Therefore, it is up to the customer to find this out and factor this amount into their purchase decision.
